The Lord is...not willing that any should perish...
2 Peter 3:9

Miracles of God's grace have been abundant and labors of love have been endless amongst BIMI missionaries in Uganda. God has called eighteen families and seven single ladies who have a passion to reach the perishing souls of this needy nation. The fact that there are five second-generation Ugandan missionaries lets their sending churches know that they have a passion to obey the Lord's calling and follow in the footsteps of their parents.

God is using these warriors of the faith to reach many towns and villages with the Gospel of Christ. Personal soul-winning, open-air evangelism, tract distribution in seven languages, church planting, discipleship, Bible institutes, orphanages, and Christian day schools have been tools that God has honored. The vast majority of Christians hear the Gospel message of salvation and come to faith in Christ as children.

Bryan and Cheri Stensaas began their ministry in 1979 as missionaries to the military, starting churches outside military bases in Europe. In 1994 the Lord directed them to Africa. They live in Mbarara, Uganda, which is in the southwestern part of Uganda. Bryan has started several churches throughout Uganda and is presently pastoring the Independent Baptist Church of Mbarara, which he planted. Bryan and Cheri have both taught in the Bible institute which was started to train the Ugandan men and women to serve the Lord.

Because of AIDS, families have moved from the towns to outlying villages. The Stensaas family and other missionaries minister to many of the children left orphaned. The children desperately need a Christian home and school. They also minister to villages where there are Pigmy families. The men who are saved are trained to reach other men and their families for Christ.

One of the highlights of their ministry is Christian radio. Bryan has started two Christian radio stations in Uganda. The first was Calvary Radio in Soroti. Life Radio is a 500 watt Christian FM station in Mbarara, where the Gospel is proclaimed throughout the Abankole region, broadcasting 18 1/2 hours daily. Pastor Mwijuka has seen many people come to know Christ as their personal Savior through the radio broadcasts. Some have come from different villages to Mbarara to receive instruction and get started on discipleship lessons. Since the number is growing, he has decided to record and broadcast the discipleship lessons over Life Radio. Please pray for the radio outreach in Uganda. This is a valuable tool to reach people for Christ.

Robert was saved through the radio ministry and is now preaching on the radio.
