To find the origin of BIMI, one must go to the heart of Africa! by Eric Bohman The chattering of monkeys leaping in the treetops interrupted the monot- onous chug-chug of the riverboat as it moved slowly up the mighty Congo River with its young missionary team. Enormous hippos lumbered along the banks, careful to avoid the bask- ing crocodiles with their mouths open in seeming slumber. The occasional trumpeting of an elephant and move- ment in the foliage revealed that the dense jungle surrounding them was alive and active. These were the first sights and sounds of Africa for these first-term missionaries. 10
