Kevin Byers was saved at the young age of five when his dad led him to Christ. He surrendered to preach at the age of seventeen and began to make preparation for the Gospel ministry. Kevin and Stacy were married in 1997 and they have seven children. Kevin served five years on active duty in the United States Air Force, is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and separated honorably at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Throughout his time overseas, Kevin continued his Bible training while serving as youth director at Eifel Baptist Church, an Independent Baptist Church in Germany comprised mainly of military members. In 2005, the Byers Family was sent out from Greater Portland Baptist Church and became missionaries with BIMI to the military in Germany. In 2011, after becoming fluent in the German Language; Kevin began serving as pastor in a German speaking church in Nuremberg, Germany. There, God used him to reach many Germans, as well as people from other countries with the Gospel. Many of these people were refugees from Iran and Syria having Muslim backgrounds. As a result of his daughter's continual health problems and struggle with severe allergies and asthma, Kevin and Stacy and their seven children returned to the United States. After prayerfully seeking the Lord as well as counsel from Pastor Adams, they have answered the call of God to plant a church in the Pacific Northwest. The town of Astoria, Oregon is a place that desperately needs churches. Not only is the need for the gospel very great in this un-churched region of America, but the coastal climate and driving winds create a safe haven for allergy sufferers like their daughter, Bella. The Byers Family invite you to pray for them and their seven children; Josiah, Gabriel, Bella, Caleb, Noah, Elijah, and Micaiah. Please visit their website where you can read their regular prayer letters and know better how you can pray for them specifically.
