Moldova - Europe

Before 1940, MOLDOVA was part of Romania. The territory was annexed by the USSR in 1940. Moldova emerged as an independent republic following the 1991 collapse of the USSR. Two-thirds of the people are of Romanian descent, the languages are virtually identical and the two countries share a common cultural heritage. There are a number of Baptist churches throughout. Two BIMI missionaries commute from their countries to minister, but can only go occasionally. Camp ministry is very successful. Plans are to focus on church planting and strengthening a Bible Institute already there. The Grosses are on deputation now. One more couple is needed.
