Dr. Frank Rosser with the Lord
William Frank Rosser, 83, Chattanooga, died Saturday, June 21, 2008.
He has been with Baptist International Missions since January 1961. He served as a missionary in Nicaragua and later as USA Director of Church Planting. He later became the Assistant General Director. At the time of his death he held the title of Assistant Director Emeritus. He was still actively involved in fund raising for the construction of church buildings in Nicaragua (see in lieu of flowers below).
Mr. Rosser was a graduate of Tennessee Temple Bible College, Spanish School in San Jose, Costa Rica, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Seabees.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Heritage Funeral Home in Ft Oglethorpe, Georgia with Dr. James Ray, the Rev. Austin Cook, the Rev. Cecil Sturgill, the Rev. Sammy Allen, the Rev. T.D. Burgess, the Rev. David Bragg and the Rev. Bob Dayton officiating.
Interment will follow in Trion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway, Ft Oglethorpe, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made towards the completion of a church in Esteli, Nicaragua. Please designate any contributions to the “Frank Rosser Project Fund” – BIMI account #953. As a result of Brother Rosser’s work and other missionaries in Nicaragua, over 150 churches have been started in this country. Before his death, Brother Rosser had sent money for the purchase of the land and materials to build this church. This church in Esteli has a pastor and a congregation who are currently meeting in various homes. How wonderful it would be to see one more church completed. Brother Frank greatly loved the people of Nicaragua and it would be a tribute to his life.
