Having been reared in a children's home, James Tamang established a home by faith for children in need. The House of Mercy Orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a work of love. James and Holly Tamang felt burdened by God to work with children. Upon their arrival in January 2005 in Nepal, they started to share their vision with the people, and God provided four children about six months after their arrival.
Their focus is not only to feed, clothe, and educate these children but also to teach them spiritually. The mission of the orphanage is to lead children to Christ through the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The goal of the Tamangs is to be an example to these children of a true Christian home. Mark 10:14 states: Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Currently, the House of Mercy has 15 children. The orphanage admits children between the ages of 3 and 9 years. God has blessed them with a beautiful facility. James and Holly Tamang are in need of permanent full-time house parents for the girls and for the boys. What a privilege it is to make plain the way of salvation to these children and give them a loving Christian home!
