$730 (plus air ticket)
Come see for yourself what God is doing in Botswana!
We are looking forward to hosting you on this exciting trip! You will taste, see, and experience “true” Africa that very few have the privilege to see. A trip that will be filled with plenty of ministry opportunities to choose from as well as site-seeing, shopping, and the special day “safari” package in nearby South Africa. You will not want to miss this trip!
Local missionaries Mike and Cindy Haley have worked to make the cost of this trip as low as possible for all to enjoy. The posted cost of $730 will cover everything from your airport pickup to the airport drop-off (this includes all lodging, meals, transportation, fuel, travel insurance, travel health insurance…even tips that may be required along the way!). The included lodging is for a “dormitory” style room that will be shared with others in the group, with two sets of bunk beds in each room. If anyone wants an upgrade in accommodation, there is a nice bed and breakfast down the road from the missionaries house (literally a 10 minute walk) that will cost an additional $45 a night with a nice queen sized bed. When you register online be sure you let us know what type of accommodation you desire, and we will adjust your cost and make the reservations. A non-refundable deposit of $200 will be required by March 1st in order to lock in all the reservations on the Africa side, and total cost must be paid by May 1st.
Regarding air tickets, there is no direct way to arrive to Botswana! There are many airlines that fly there, some American carriers (Delta and United), European carriers (British Air and KLM), a middle east carrier (Qatar), as well as African carriers (South Africa Airways, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Air). Each airline is priced differently, is part of a different travel group (if you are desiring to use air-miles), and has their “pros and cons.” Some airlines will only fly into Johannesburg, South Africa, and then an additional short flight will be needed to go up to Gaborone, Botswana.
In order to accommodate everyone, we have decided to let each person choose what airline is best for them. However, travel in Africa can be difficult with international delays and issues in foreign airports! Because of this, each traveller will need to go through our travel agent in order to be sure all tickets are in sync with other group members and all layovers are sufficient in each connecting airport. We want no one left behind! We also don’t want to make ten trips to the airport! For those who are new to international travel, and would prefer to travel with me, my itinerary will be available from the travel agent, and she can book you on the same flights. The agent is as follows:
Sr. International Travel Expert
1800 SE 10th Ave., Suite 320
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316

There is no travel visa needed to enter Botswana. However, each person must have their passport current and to make sure that it does not expire within six months from the day of travel (that will be December 13, 2019). If your passport expires before then, you will need to get a new one. There are also no required shots for this trip. Although you will see and experience Africa, we will be very careful not to “expose" you to Africa and get anyone sick. I have never had anyone sick on any of the trips I have hosted, and I plan on keeping that record! However, it may be wise to consult your doctor to be sure you are up to date on your booster shots, tetanus, etc. Your local travel health department will be a help in that area too. Feel free to ask any questions regarding this.
Also, in an effort to give as much help as they can, Mike and Cindy have created a PDF (Download it here)
that you can print with helpful information that they have gathered about visiting their field. If there are any questions, feel free to contact me directly Email
